The future is green—and young people deserve the knowledge, skills, and support to be part of it.
Advancing Youth Work in the Green Transition is a new Erasmus+ small scale project that brings together organisations from Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Türkiye to explore how youth work can help young people prepare for opportunities in the growing green economy.
Over the next 14 months, our partnership will create practical tools that help youth workers mentor young people towards sustainable careers while encouraging active participation in their communities.
What is the project about?
Climate change and the green transition are changing the way we live and work. New professions are emerging, and young people need guidance to understand where they fit into this changing world.
Through this project, we will combine non-formal education, mentoring, and hands-on learning to help young people discover green career opportunities, develop valuable life skills, and turn their ideas into action.
At the same time, youth workers will gain new methods and practical resources they can continue using long after the project ends.
What will happen?
Throughout the project, partners will meet, learn from each other, and co-create a practical Green Jobs & Youth Work Mentorship Framework—a resource that will help youth organisations across Europe support young people interested in the green transition.
The project includes an international seminar in Bulgaria, a training course hosted by Aurora Network in Bitola, and Local Green Labs where young people will work with mentors, explore sustainability topics, develop personal career plans, and create their own community initiatives.
The journey will end with national events, public presentations, and the publication of all project results as free resources that anyone can use.
Aurora Network’s role
Aurora Network is proud to lead the international training course that will take place in Bitola, bringing together youth workers from all partner countries.
We will also coordinate the Local Green Lab in North Macedonia, mentor young participants, organise activities with local stakeholders, and contribute our experience in experiential and nature-based learning to the project’s educational resources.
What will we create?
Together, we will develop practical resources that youth workers can immediately use in their daily work, including:
- A Green Jobs & Youth Work Mentorship Framework
- Ready-to-use educational session plans
- Practical mentoring tools
- Green career planning resources
- A guide for organising Local Green Labs
- Inspiring stories, videos, and examples of youth-led green initiatives
All materials will be freely available online so that organisations across Europe can benefit from the project’s results.
