Shift Happens: From Comfort Zone to Competence

Change is inevitable — but how we respond to it makes all the difference.

From 21–28 June 2026, Aurora Network proudly took part in the Erasmus+ Training Course Shift Happens: From Comfort Zone to Competence in Moravec, Czechia, with a team of three youth workers. Throughout the week, participants from across Europe came together to explore one of the most important skills of today’s world: adaptability.

What we explored

Through interactive workshops, experiential learning, reflection, and teamwork, we explored how we react to uncertainty, stress, and constant change — and how those challenges can become opportunities for personal and professional growth.

What we gained

  • Greater self-awareness and a better understanding of how we react to change
  • Practical stress-management and adaptability skills
  • Shared experiences and good practices with youth workers from across Europe
  • Co-created educational tools and methods for youth work
  • New friendships, international connections, and future collaborations

Why it matters

One of the greatest values of Erasmus+ projects is the chance to learn not only from trainers, but from one another. We returned home inspired, equipped with new methods, and motivated to create learning environments where young people can confidently embrace change.

A huge thank you to the organisers, Brno for You, the trainers, and every participant who made this experience so meaningful. We look forward to putting everything we’ve learned into practice and sharing it with our community.
