An unforgettable summer of nature, challenge, and growth in the Croatian mountains.

From 20–26 August 2025, Aurora Network’s Macedonian team took part in the Erasmus+ youth exchange Empowering Youth Through Outdoor Education, organised by Outward Bound Croatia at its educational centre in Veliki Žitnik, Lika, Croatia — surrounded by forest, just 6 km from Gospić.

What the week held

Together with young people from Croatia and North Macedonia, participants spent the week outdoors, unplugged and fully present:

• Hiking, camping, and exploring the outdoors
• Developing personal and social skills
• A digital detox and healthy lifestyle habits
• Connecting with young people across borders
• Learning about EU opportunities for youth
• No Wi-Fi — just nature, friendship, and self-discovery

Funding

The project was organised by Outward Bound Croatia and funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, with travel, meals, and accommodation provided.
