From 14–20 December 2025, the quiet village of Veliki Žitnik (Lika, Croatia) became a meeting point for young people from across Europe who came together to slow down, explore nature, and learn through experience.

About the exchange

The youth exchange “Nature as an Inspiration”, hosted by Outward Bound Croatia, took place in their outdoor education center, surrounded by forests, fresh air, and space to truly connect, with nature, with others, and with ourselves. Aurora Network joined the project as a partner organisation, with 4 young participants and 1 team leader taking part in this journey alongside peers from other countries.

What we did

Throughout the week, participants learned through outdoor and nature-based activities, visited the Nikola Tesla Memorial Centre to discover how nature and curiosity shaped his thinking, explored Grabovača Cave Park, and built friendships, trust, and intercultural understanding.

Closing note

This exchange was not about rushing or ticking boxes, it was about presence, reflection, teamwork, and inspiration drawn directly from the natural environment. The project was implemented within the Erasmus+ Programme.
